Detail
subsp. croaticus Abeille de Perrin, 1897: Central-European subspecies with poorly known bionomy preferring steppes up to 500 m. Probably single eggs are deposited at the base of the host plant. Rather long tunnels (about 60 cm) with a few loops are filled with the brown frass which contrasts with nearly white wood of the plant. The whole tunnel or its longer part runs in the root, pupal chamber is situated in the sapwood at the base of the trunk. Larval development lasts two years, pupation in May - June. Adult beetles come out in June and July. Host plants: Sarothamnus scoparius, Chamaecytisus, Genista (Bílý, 2002, as Agrilus curtii Obenberger, 1913).
